As of the last week of April, the largest car hauling load board Central Dispatch, surpassed 54,000 load offers. Spring is usually a busy time for trucking, especially car hauling, but 54,000 is quite a bit higher than the average. In years past, Central Dispatch can range in load offers from 25,000 to 40,000 that sits on Central at any given time. So what gives? Why now?

This month’s Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion meeting was moved to May 12 to celebrate National Digital Inclusion Week. The KCCDI celebrated by holding a special 3-hour meeting with a panel discussion and Skype call to the National Coalition for Digital Inclusion to discuss the progress in digital inclusion, as well as mistakes and hurdles.

Though Digital Inclusion Week was a way to celebrate efforts made toward closing the digital divide, the meeting also focused on ways to improve those efforts and lessons that core activists have learned along the way. Read more about the KCCDI here…

A new type of business accelerator geared toward infrastructure and construction businesses is up and running in Virginia, and Kansas City-based architecture startup PlanIT Impact has won a chance to participate in the business boot camp’s first year.

The Health Innovation Team on April 13 hosted a telehealth education workshop called “Reimbursement to Value in Telehealth.” The discussion centered on informing medical practices on the use of telemedicine to benefit patients, insurance and providers alike. The workshop was the first of its kind to be hosted by Kansas City Digital Drive, and more than 30 medical professionals attended.

That’s an awesome question, I’ve never had that question before, so congratulations. I think definitely I’m super critical of myself. I’ve had people ask, “do you ever stop after something happens and celebrate that it happened?” and I’m like “no no no.”

Billy Martin did not know what to expect before delivering his pitch on Friday, Sept. 18, to a group of judges and fellow entrepreneurs at the Techweek event in Kansas City.

As one of 20 finalists for LaunchKC, a business model competition for technology startup firms, Martin and his company Ulytic were about to take the final step before finding out if it would be one of 10 companies to receive a $50,000 check to support the next phase of his business.
